Janet watched him from her position in the control room. Janet hadn't dared enter the gate room to say goodbye.
Knowing that if she had she wouldn't have been able to hide her feelings; not that she was doing so well at hiding them up here in the control room. A single tear sliding down her cheek as she watched him. Shaking hands with his team-mates.
She couldn't hear what he said. Her mind numb from the events of the last few days. His heroism, the decision to leave. Another tear slipped down her cheek.
Her hero was leaving her.
